We all have passions that we develop over time. For some it may be a love of landscaping, for others possibly it’s a sport, or if you’re anything like us, it’s heating. Just like we have a great time working to keep you comfy throughout the year, we also love helping others chase their passions to become experts.
Recently, we wrapped up our “Experts Creating Experts” contest in which we gave away $25,000 to acquire expertise and education in one topic you are most passionate about. Submissions ranged from lifelong dreams of becoming a chef to developing a line of children’s books to encourage. The Grand Prize winners, Mike and Jillian, entered to become expert foragers, collecting wild plants and foods from nature. After being one of five finalists chosen from a group of judges, the public voted through Facebook and now, Mike and Jillian are headed out all around New York and Massachusetts to speak with artisan farmers, a dairy farm and even a distillery.
Take a few moments to look at the video above and follow them on their trip!
We realize that heating and cooling may not be everyone’s passion, but it is obviously a passion of ours to give back to communities like Kingston. After all, you have helped make us the heating and cooling experts in this neck of the woods. And for that, we thank you.
Remember them?
Mike and Jillian won $25,000 in Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning’s Experts Creating Experts Contest so they could become expert foragers. Foragers gather wild plants and foods from nature.
This fall, they’ll leave for the first part of their trip. Mike & Jillian will be going around New York and Massachusetts meeting small artisan farmers, checking out the High Lawn Farms Dairy, working at the first legal distillery in the Berkshires since Prohibition and learning about extracts from a company in business for 125 years. They’ll even forage for mushrooms. And we’ll be with them, sharing their adventures with you along the way.
In January 2016, we’ll head out to California for the next part of their adventure.
