Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

Two Service Experts centers are making a statement this October with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both going to paint two of their company vans pink for the fight to end breast cancer.

For the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to Summit-based Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help cure breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be donating 5% of all sales from their pink vans plus $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second October Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted two of their vans pink to fundraise for breast cancer. In 2015, Fras-Air raised over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his employees both lost their mothers to alternative forms of cancer and were moved to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute reported that 107,184 women in New Jersey had breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the quantity of cases is actually going down each year, that still represents a large number of families who are dealing with this disease, and therefore we have a serious need for research and support.”

Service Experts of Raleigh’s General Manager, Chris Overton, echoed Schneider’s thoughts. “According to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in the state – for women and men.”
