What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with some of the most usual cooling problems in Kingston.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system operating but there isn’t cool air coming out, you could need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Service Experts and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity can cause more condensation so an additional issue to watch for is that the water is not draining correctly or that the drain is restricted. If you can confirm these matters, you may be able to pinpoint the issue; if not, give Service Experts a call and we can look into what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause huge cooling problems. Another problem that could cause your lack of cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your unit is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be all set. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the equipment is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your issue, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
