Both Service Experts and Enercare literature told me that my warranty and servicing would continue to be provided when the switch took place to enercare, but right now that doesn't appear to be the case. I am ready to call the better business bureau and Costco as the original purchase was through Costco. Please call me (613-539-3674) and tell me what is going on. Also, you should be aware that it is extremely difficult to get an Enercare rep on the phone.... "all our agents are currently busy with other customers".Good grief."

They soon discovered that the return air filter needed replacement and that also a pressure switch was faulty. Both these items were replaced and the furnace was checked for proper operation. They then discovered that the CO concentration in the exhaust was about ten times what was acceptable! Immediately they set about finding why and rectified the cause. At all times I was kept informed of progress and what needed to be done to get the furnace back in to efficient working order. Both Jesse and Ben were polite, friendly and respected my home. Both my young daughters were home doing online learning. The two technicians doing the instal quite loudly were discussing topics that are not acceptable around young children, let alone in a customer's home. Talking about strippers might be considered acceptable shop talk, but has no place in a customer's home, especially where there are children present. Sales rep was awesome, and timeliness was good."

The technician understood what was happening and tried several ways to fix it. When that failed he turned out to have a replacement pump in his truck, which was very convenient. My attempt to sign up with an Enercare plan so far has failed. The Enercare number that the technician said to call (1-855-836-4281) gave only a busy signal on several attempts. I got a different number from an Enercare e-mail and did talk to someone. (I wrote down the number and the person's name, but at the moment cannot find them.) This person seemed to be promoting only a plan quite different from what I wanted, at a much higher price. At this point I said I wanted to have my recent contracts on hand while we were on the telephone. The person said she would call back, but hasn't so far. Upon checking my files I found the following: (1) For the recent service call (Dec.15, 2021) I paid $139 + tax. at the Dec.15,2020 service call. (so this is paying a year ahead, the appointment date for the 2021 service being made at the same time.) (2) The documentation for the 2020 visit did not include a page saying what plan I was on. The documentation of the 2019 service says that I was on a plan called "PLUS Maintenance". The back of the page is called "Plus Service Plan Agreement Terms" which I assume is the same plan. (3) A letter dated November 15, 2021 from Bruce Graham, a Vice President of Service Experts, says that I am currently on a plan called Armour Plus. He is promoting only an Enercare Protection Plan that after the initial year will cost "only" 13.99 per month (if I sign up soon enough), which is $288 a year, almost double what I recently paid. If the Armour Plus Service Experts Plan is roughly equivalent to the proposed new Enercare Plan then, based on the annual cost, it must be a more elaborate plan than what I actually on. (4) Both Graham and the Enercare telephone person claim 6 months free coverage. The Enercare person then says that the price will increase to $27.11 a month for the rest of the first year. Then it would drop to $13.99 a month. Graham did not mention the price increase for the rest of the first year, but at least they are consistent on the $13.99. Factoring in the price increase for the rest of the year, it does not look like I am really being offered 6 months free coverage, at most a trial period, after which I end up paying about the same as without the free offer. (5) I do not want to make monthly payments, I want to make only one payment for the year, as I have always done. The technicial said I should ask for plan Annual MH at $121 +HST. (MH I think means Maintenance Heating, or some such thing.)"
